On November 1, 2024, in Shanghai, China, Saigon Newport Corporation (TCSG), in collaboration with the Shanghai Port Federation and the Vietnamese Business Association in China, organized the conference “Supply Chain Optimization and Trade Enhancement between Vietnam and China.” The event aimed to promote deep and sustainable trade cooperation between businesses of the two countries.
Attending the conference were distinguished guests: Mr. Nguyen The Tung, Consul General of Vietnam in Shanghai; Mr. Zhang Jie, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Commerce Commission; Colonel Nguyen Nang Toan, Chairman of TCSG; Mr. Lu Cheng, Director of the Asia-Pacific Port Research Center, along with 150 representatives from shipping companies, customers, and logistics enterprises in China.
In recent years, trade relations between Vietnam and China have made significant strides, contributing greatly to the economic development of both nations. China is Vietnam’s largest import market, while Vietnam ranks as China’s fourth-largest trading partner and the ASEAN country with the highest trade share in China-ASEAN trade. Bilateral trade accounts for approximately 25% of China’s total trade with the region.
As Vietnam’s leading port and logistics service operator, Saigon Newport Corporation handles more than 55% of Vietnam’s import-export container market share through its port facilities. Over the years, TCSG has effectively collaborated with major Chinese maritime and logistics companies such as Cosco, SITC, CU Lines, Shanghai Jinjiang, Hede, Sinotrans, Taicang, and Ningbo.
At the conference, participants underscored the importance of supply chain optimization and trade enhancement as vital bridges for sustainable cooperation and trade connectivity between Vietnam and China. From expanding infrastructure and applying advanced technology to promoting green solutions, all efforts are directed toward a common goal: building an efficient, optimized, and resilient supply chain capable of adapting to global economic fluctuations.
With the message “Collaboration for Sustainable Development,” Saigon Newport Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and service enhancement to meet partners’ and customers’ needs.
